Jason Pano holds a BM in Music Theory and Composition from California State University Sacramento where he studied with Dr. Steven Blumberg and Prof. Leo Eylar. He is currently finishing his MM in Choral Conducting at California State University Fullerton under the guidance of Dr. Robert Istad and Dr. Christopher Peterson. During his studies at CSUF, Jason has been granted assistantships as Women’s Choir graduate assistant under Dr. Istad during the 2013-14 academic year, chorus master and assistant conductor to Prof. Kimo Furumoto during the CSUF’s Spring 2015 production of Franz Lehár’s The Merry Widow, and lastly as University Singers graduate assistant under Dr. Istad during the 2015-16 academic year. Jason has also served as assistant conductor to Dr. Istad during Pacific Chorale’s 2015 “Tis the Season” performances and during CSUF’s Summer 2016 performances with Andrea Bocelli under Maestro Eugene Kohn and the LA Philharmonic’s performances of the “Star Trek” movie under Maestro David Newman. Jason currently services as choral director at Palisades United Methodist Church in Capistrano Beach and continues his work in community engagement, outreach, and recruitment as a social media specialist for the CSUF College of the Arts, California Choral Directors Association, and Pacific Chorale.
