Colleen Chester


Colleen Chester is a graduate of California State University, Fullerton where she received both her Bachelor of Art degree in Music Education, Choral Music Emphasis and her Single Subject teaching credential. While in Southern California, Colleen was an active conductor as well as performer, conducting selections from operas such as Mozart’s “Marriage of Figaro” and “Magic Flute” as well as Handel’s “Rodelinda”. As a performer she has sung with various choruses throughout the Southern California region such as the Long Beach Camerata Singers, Choral Arts Initiative, Pacific Chorale, and frequently with the Hollywood Bowl Chorus and Orchestra with Andrea Bocelli and John Williams. Chester also has the pleasure working for the Oregon Bach Festival in capacities such as the Production Assistant for the Berwick Academy, a Baroque performance practice orchestra and the Assistant to the Conducting Masterclass. Colleen is in her third year as the choral director at San Luis Obispo High and Laguna Middle School, is the Chorus Master for SLO Opera’s productions of The Nutcracker, Chair for Education Outreach for the SLO Master Chorale, is an active performer with Symphony of the Vines, Canzona Women’s Chorus, SLO.
